Boyds' Direct Sales Distribution service, available in 24 Western states, provides in-person product delivery, equipment setup and service, menu advice and marketing support to customers in the restaurant, hotel, casino, healthcare, convenience store, grocery and specialty retail segments. Boyds' coffee buyers work directly with growers from countries of origin and from reputable coffee brokers and agents with a long-standing history in the coffee industry. The company favors close relationships with high-quality growers; many of these relationships have continued for generations. Boyds sources much of its coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ and Q-Graded farms to encourage sustainable farming and to improve the quality of life in coffee-growing communities.

Boyds is a founding member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), and the inventor of The Coffee Profiler®, the only brewing system certified by the SCAA to brew each cup to the highest standard in the industry, the Golden Cup Award standard. The company is also the U.S. importer and distributor of Technivorm Moccamaster coffeemakers, which are consistently ranked as the best home brewer by publications such as Cooks Illustrated, The New York Times, Wine Spectator and Forbes.
